Secondary · Years 7–9
The subjects GCSE builds on, taught from Year 7.
We teach Maths, English and sciences at this stage, in 2-hour sessions of no more than five students, at £18 a session.
What we teach in Years 7 to 9.
- Mathsarithmetic → generalised reasoning
-
We teach the new topics alongside the fractions, decimals, percentages and number fluency underneath them — when those are weak, the new topic can look like the problem when the difficulty started earlier.
- Englishcomprehension → critical analysis
-
We teach pupils to make an inference, support it with evidence and explain how a writer’s language or structure creates meaning — and to organise their writing into clear arguments, explanations and comparisons.
- Sciencegeneral science → three disciplines
-
We teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Year 7, including working scientifically — variables, tables and graphs, measurements, and drawing conclusions from evidence.
Taught by subject specialists.
