GCSE · Years 10–11

Understanding it is not the same as getting the marks for it.

Maths, English Language, English Literature and Science for Years 10 and 11, taught in two-hour subject sessions with no more than five pupils per tutor. £20 per session. We teach the subject knowledge and how to use it in an exam, within each subject.

At GCSE, one “subject” can mean more than one tuition session.

Maths is one session. English Language and English Literature are taught as separate sessions. Science follows the route your child’s school has chosen — we teach both Combined and Triple.

Mathsfoundation or higher

We teach both tiers, prepared to your child’s exam board.

EnglishLanguage and Literature, separately

We teach both, prepared to your child’s exam board and the texts their school has set.

ScienceCombined or Triple

Biology, Chemistry and Physics draw on different knowledge and skills, so support may cover up to three separate Science sessions, or begin with two subjects where the need is greatest.

Required practicals are covered through the knowledge, method and exam questions students need to understand. We do not carry out the experiments at the centre.

Taught by subject specialists.

Looking beyond GCSE. Where useful, we can also talk through post-16 options and the grades a student may need for the route they are considering.

Is Year 11 too late?

It depends on how much time is left and what needs work. Earlier gives us more room, but focused support later can still be useful. The assessment shows what is realistic.

Which exam board?

The one your child’s school enters them for — you tell us at the assessment and we prepare to it.

See where your child stands.

A free assessment gives us a starting point. We look at your child’s current work in the subject, mark it, then talk you through what we found and where we think tuition could help.
